Leontopodium Alpinum

Better known as Eidelweiss, Leontopodium alpinum is an utterly charming hardy alpine perennial. Distinctively soft and felt-like, the silvery star-shaped blooms make a striking display above the neat clump of narrow, greyish foliage. This alpine favourite thrives on excellent drainage, particularly during the winter months, so is perfect for growing in containers, rockeries and on very light soils or scree. The unusual-looking blooms of Eidelweiss make lovely dried flowers too. Height: 25cm (10″). Spread: 20cm (8″).
