Pyracantha Coccinea ‘Red Star’

Firethorn may sound a bit intense, but this Pyracantha coccinea variety ‘Red Star’ has less thorns amongst its stems than others. The foliage remains dark in all seasons, which makes a stunning backdrop for the white blooms and red fruits later in the season. They can be grown as a standalone shrub and can also be planted up and tied to a strong framework and grown as a climber. Please note these fruits should not be eaten and can cause stomach upset.
